WWF FIGURE INSIDER
By John Barnett

(For the week of March 5, 2000)

NEWS: The HUGE news this week is the debut of Double Slam Series 4. Both Matt and Jeff Hardy look excellent!!! Triple H has a brand new sculpt with a very life-like face. Billy Gunn is also much improved. Chris Jericho & Chyna will undoubtedly be one of the hottest 2-Packs with brand new figures of Y2J and Chyna. Last we have the Test & Kane 2-Pack. Test looks excellent with his new mold and Kane looks incredible in fiery red.

Also available for Pre-Order is Federation Fighters Series 2.  This incredible follow up to Federation Fighters Series 1 features incredibly detailed 12" Figures of The Rock in his $500 shirt, Steve Austin with his gym bag, The Big Show with his chair, and The Undertaker with his axe.  Federation Fighters Series 2 is an incredible set that you do not want to miss!

Jakks has announced that they've been awarded the Toys R Us "Vendor of the Year Award" for the second consecutive year. They also reported record sales for 1999. Click Here to read the Press Release.

In stock this week is the Trash Talkin' Stage.  The follow up to Titan Tron Live is a brand new accessory that allows you to make use of all your current Titan Tron Live figures.  Place your Titan Tron Live figure on the Trash Talkin' Stage and you will hear that Superstars famous phrases.  For example, if you put your Rock figure on the Trash Talkin' Stage, you might have the privilege of being called a Roody Pooh Jabroni!

Final Results of last week's Poll: It was pretty much a two-way race in last week's poll for your favorite part of our Toy Fair coverage. Liking all of the coverage barely edged out the photos of all the great new figures by a margin of 45% to 41%. Every other choice was left in the dust, and it's obvious you thought the Toy Fair coverage here at Ringside Collectibles was a big hit.

INSIDER MAILBAG:
Every week your Figure Insider will answer the two best questions that I receive via e-mail.  So if you have a WWF-Figure related question that has been bugging you, simply e-mail me, your Figure Insider at: [email protected]. Make sure you include your Name and Town in the e-mail.

[email protected] writes:
Will we see a Mideon figure, a Prince Albert, Too Cool, Rikishi, Radicals, or Kurt Angle figure? These are great wrestlers, and I am sure they would make great figures.

Jakks has not issued any confirmation on any of the figures above, but I would expect figures of all of them soon. With Jakks' new RealScan technology, we should see figures of them that not only look better but will be produced faster as well.

What is in the WWF Prop Box?

Ever since Toy Fair, my mailbox has been flooded with questions asking exactly what Jakks' Prop Boxes are all about. The simple answer to the question is that Prop Boxes are boxes filled with dioramas/playsets with all the Grapple Gear you can shake a stick at. Each Prop Box will contain a cool diorama replica of a backstage area or other places you might see WWF action spill into such as a weight room with real weights and other accessories. The diorama also includes Grapple Gear style accessories with break-away mechanisms. The first Prop Box as shown on our Toy Fair coverage will include a Back Alley Diorama, a bendable street sign, a head-stuffing newspaper machine, tires, newspapers, and a break away boulder.

CLASSIC JAKKS FIGURE OF THE WEEK:

Shane McMahon

Fully Loaded 2

With Shane McMahon returning to WWF television, he was an obvious choice for this week's Figure of the Week. Shane-O-Mac may have had a popular debut in Superstars Series 8 in a suit, but his Fully Loaded 2 figure in his wrestling gear was even more popular. It must have been that removable X-Punk jersey that Shane sported at Wrestlemania last year.

BRING IT TO ME JAKKS!: Is there a certain figure that you would like to see produced or an accessory you would like to see made?  Jakks has informed us that they would love to hear your ideas and suggestions for future products!  If you always wanted that Howard Finkel & Lillian Garcia 2-Pack to complete your collection or if you think that Jakks should come out with Prince Albert's back hair playset with real hair, all that you have to do is e-mail Jakks with your suggestion.  They just might use it!  All product suggestions sent to: [email protected] will be forwarded directly to Jakks Pacific.
