WWF FIGURE INSIDER
By John Barnett

(For the week of April 10, 2000)

NEWS:The public finally got their first chance to see Jakks' new RealScan technology in person last weekend. Jakks had their RealScan figures on display at WWF Axxess for all the fans to see. Included in the display were the Hardy Boyz, Triple H, Big Show, Billy Gunn, and Ivory. Most of these figures are due in stores by summer. Be sure to check back later in the week. We have a ton of exclusive images from WWF AXXESS for your enjoyment!

Also on display at WWF Axxess were the new Real Sounds Arena and SmackDown! Live playset. The highlight of the Real Sounds Arena is an amazing ring that looks like it was taken straight off SmackDown! Among other things, the ring will use the Tron technology to announce what wrestlers are coming into the ring, make pin counts, and even count out wrestlers. The SmackDown Live playset is a dead-ringer for the WWF's "oval-tron" entrance used for SmackDown! tapings. The playset will even play  the actual Smackdown opening as well as the wrestlers entrance music. Now that's just too cool.

Grapple Gear Series 4: Die Cast is in stock. If you pre-ordered this great assortment of Grapple Gear, expect to have them in your hands very soon. If not, order them soon. Otherwise, you'll have to wait a few weeks or even months for local stores to stock them.

Also in stock right now is Titan Tron Live Series 3. This set of the year candidate includes completely brand new figures of Chris Jericho, Test, The Rock, Chyna, Steve Austin, and Big Bossman!  If you pre-ordered TTL3, expect to have them in your hands very soon. If not, get your order in today!!!

For weeks fans have been sending complaints about Double Slam Series 4. The major complaint has been that you want the opportunity to purchase the 2-Packs individually.  Now you have that chance!! We have a very LIMITED quantity of Double Slam Series 4 available for Pre-Order individually.  This includes the Hardy Boyz with the tag team title belts!!!  Remember, by pre-ordering you will receive the figures weeks before any store does.  Remember, each figure is packaged at only 3 per case, so your odds of finding the one you want in a store are very slim!  Guarantee yourself the 2-Pack you want by placing a pre-order today!!!

I am REALLY excited about Jakks new Smackdown! Titantron playset and the
new Smackdown! ring/arena. Has there been any NEW information or photos
of these great items? AFR has some info but it was nothing to get
excited about. PLEASE GIVE US SOME COLLECTORS SOME NEW
INFO/PHOTOGRAPHS!!!!

Look no further than our WWF Axxess coverage coming later this week for pics, details, and anything else you might want to see of them. There is actually a photo of the prototype packaging in our Toy Fair coverage.

Augie Pires from Danbury, CT writes:
I noticed in your column that Jakks Series 1 is worth around $200, my question is how much is that set worth if it is open and out of the package?

Superstars Series 1 is worth considerably more than the $200 Ringside Collectibles is selling them for. Razor Ramon and Diesel alone are worth nearly that much. Overall, I'd rate the set being valued at approximately $250 to $275 MOC. A set of loose Series 1 figures is worth around $125, with Razor Ramon and Diesel carrying the load at about $60 and $30 respectively.

CLASSIC JAKKS FIGURE OF THE WEEK:

Steve Blackman
Superstars Series 6

Steve Blackman's figure in Superstars Series 6 may have initially been met with overwhelming apathy, a lot like his solo matches, but his popularity is definitely picking up since the formation of Head Cheese. Interest in this figure has picked up lately, with his value on the rise. Blackman's quest to find a personality which has lead to a major increase in interest for his Series 6 figure as well as Ringside Collectibles own Al Snow Autographed Figure.

BRING IT TO ME JAKKS!: Is there a certain figure that you would like to see produced or an accessory you would like to see made?  Jakks has informed us that they would love to hear your ideas and suggestions for future products!  If you always wanted that Howard Finkel & Lillian Garcia 2-Pack to complete your collection or if you think that Jakks should come out with Prince Albert's back hair playset with real hair, all that you have to do is e-mail Jakks with your suggestion.  They just might use it!  All product suggestions sent to: [email protected] will be forwarded directly to Jakks Pacific.
