Eric Bischoff pushed Vince McMahon further to the limit than any one else in professional wrestling. He was the WCW President from 1994 to 1999 and is the only wrestling promoter to successfully overtake Vince McMahon's promotion in terms of popularity. Bischoff's tactics paid dividends as Nitro defeated Raw in the weekly ratings for 86 straight weeks. From the years of 1996 to 1998, Bischoff's WCW was the most profitable wrestling company in the world. Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall would become a very important part of Bischoff's most daring and successful angle: the birth of the New World Order. Bischoff himself would step from behind the camera to become the mouthpiece and leader of the NWO as it grew to prominence.
