Bridge Direct WWE Display at Toy Fair 2014!

Bridge Direct was at Toy Fair 2014, displaying their new and upcoming WWE wrestling toys and playsets. With a massive variety of WWE Superstars and amazingly detailed and elaborate playsets and toys, Bridge Direct showed their importance in the expansion of the WWE in the toy market.

WWE Stackdown Display By Bridge Direct!

Building upon their existing launch line of WWE Superstars and Playsets, Bridge Direct brought up their upcoming WWE Stackdown Playsets featuring over 30 WWE Superstars and different variations of wrestling rings, accessory playsets and more. The detail and sheer size of some of the playsets are a surprise and exciting for WWE wrestling figure collectors and fans of any new WWE toys.

With a basic lineup of WWE Superstars beginning the Bridge Direct releases, they brought out more of the roster at Toy Fair 2014, showing that many more Stackdown versions of the WWE roster Including Superstars like The Shield, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk and Mark Henry, the roster only looks to be getting bigger and bigger as Bridge Direct releases more WWE Stackdown Playsets.

A close up of the Bridge Direct WWE Stackdown versions of Daniel Bryan and Alberto Del Rio prove just how detail oriented the company has been so far, including a scarf accessory for Del Rio and a massive, flowing beard for Daniel Bryan.

WWE Stackdown Destruction Dungeon Playset by Bridge Direct!

The WWE Stackdown Destruction Dungeon Playset was on display, showcasing a perfect example of just how elaborate the playsets from Bridge Direct can get. With plenty of traps and the inclusion of the ‘Brothers of Destruction’ and a miniature coffin accessory filled with classic manager Paul Bearer, the depth (and possibilities) seems endless.

WWE Stackdown Playset by Bridge Direct featuring The Shield!

Training their muscles and proving that there is no shortage of young, up-and-coming impactful talent in the WWE Stackdown Series, The Shield featuring Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins build upon the already extremely deep WWE Stackdown roster.

WWE Stackdown RAW Ring Playset by Bridge Direct!

Perfect for full on wrestling action, the WWE RAW Ring Stackdown Playset was on display and featured incredible details like a referee, camera man with equipment and even the never before seen Brock Lesnar and Ryback Stackdown figures. An entryway with Titantron rounded the playset off.

WWE WrestleMania XXX Stackdown Playset by Bridge Direct!

In the same vein as the RAW Stackdown Playset, the WWE WrestleMania XXX Stackdown Playset had purple, gold and silver color schemes to match the WrestleMania theme and a John Cena offensive maneuver to match the most likely outcome of the event.

WWE Stackdown Hauler Playset by Bridge Direct!

The WWE Stackdown Hauler Playset, including WWE Stackdown versions of both CM Punk and The Rock, was on display and showed off more of the buildable aspects of the WWE Stackdown playsets. With opening and closing parts, moving wheels and plenty of room to store Stackdown Superstars it was another must-have item.

WWE Stackdown Survivor Series Playset by Bridge Direct!

One of the most elaborate and impressive set ups for Bridge Direct came in the form of the WWE Stackdown Survivor Series Playset. With a massive ring, incredible scaffolding and a huge entry way, WWE Stackdown and WWE wrestling toy fans everywhere will look for the chance to own this buildable playset. It is clearly perfect for anyone looking to have any type of WWE wrestling match with their WWE Stackdown toys.

Other WWE items from Bridge Direct including plush toys and Fighting Fists!

Other Bridge Direct items on display were the WWE Fighting Fists and various plush versions of WWE Superstars. No one condones violence but these soft toys are hard not to play with using a bit of ruthless aggression.

Bridge Direct also expanded their unique WWE Stackdown Superstar Playsets with appearances from Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler and more to come. Bridge Direct was even nice enough to walk Ringside Collectibles through their display as seen in the video below.

The WWE Display from Wicked Cool Toys!

At the 2014 Spring Toy Fair, Ringside Collectibles, Inc. was able to meet with Wicked Cool Toys, a toy company founded by WWE wrestling figure legend Jeremy Padawer. Wicked Cool Toys is licensed to produce WWE product and had plenty of it on hand, ranging from accessories, ‘wicked cool’ toys and even a new wrestling ring that has been in the demand of wrestling action figure fans for years.

Wicked Cool Toys took advantage of the lack of a Mattel WWE ‘elite scale’ ring and has produced the WWE Authentic Scale Ring, complete with over 30 buildable parts. This huge 22×22″ scale ring is just what wrestling figure fans have wanted, with authentic ring parts, an authentic RAW ring skirt (and an authentic Smackdown ring skirt for those purchased from Ringside Collectibles) and a size massive enough to hold over 50 wrestling figures. Toy Fair 2014 presented fans with a look at the ring for the first time.

Also on display were the popular WWE Thumbpers, comprised of everyone’s favorite WWE Superstars and ready for thumb wrestling action. With new packaging, the line is a favorite of fans looking to get some small, quick hands on battles going.

Bringing back an old WWE accessory staple, the WWE Superstar Bobble Heads, miniature in size and huge in stature and personality were also on display. With top tier WWE Superstars like Daniel Bryan and WWE Legends like the Legion of Doom, fans can really bring out the support of the ‘sports’ in ‘sports entertainment’ with these detailed collectibles.

WWE Superstar Keychains, including a WWE microphone key chain, also appeared at Toy Fair 2014. Fans can choose from their favorite WWE Superstars to protect one of their most valuable transportation assets…their keys! Also on display were WWE, WrestleMania, RAW and Smackdown Echo Microphones, perfect to extend the voice of any wannabe WWE Superstar.

The WWE Superstar Banks on display were based on the upper torsos of the most popular WWE Superstars, with the likes of The Rock, John Cena, and even CM Punk getting the treatment. Encouraging young fans to save their money, these banks are perfect for brawling and loose change.

WWE Thumbpers Ring Playsets by Wicked Cool Toys!

Also on display in the WWE Thumbpers collection were these WrestleMania XXX and WWE RAW Thumbpers wrestling rings. Most WWE Thumbpers collectors have been stuck having their brawls in mid-air until now, when they can put their favorites (and their thumbs) between the ropes for a battle!

31″ John Cena Action Figure by Wicked Cool Toys!

The Wicked Cool Toys WWE 31″ action figure series will come to include the likes of The Rock and CM Punk, but John Cena is the first making the CeNation as happy as can be.

Also on hand was Wicked Cool Toys Co-Founder Jeremy Padawer, who was gracious enough to catch up with Ringside Collectibles, Inc. in a video interview!

Though short lived, the friendship of Big E Langston and AJ Lee came after she turned the tables on her former boyfriend Dolph Ziggler. It turned into a tumultuous relationship for the two since and they have gone their separate ways. Big E Langston sees his second basic release, possibly with a new colored singlet and the sought after AJ Lee will hopefully have an updated look that covers her post-‘crazy chick’ era run.

Is Batista Getting the Right Reaction From the WWE Universe?

Batista returned to the WWE just in time to participate in the 2014 Royal Rumble. The WWE Universe seemed underwhelmed by his return as he set his sights on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and looked to send a message to the rest of the WWE locker room by taking out Alberto Del Rio. Some were very excited, but many felt it wasn’t the explosive return they were looking for. Regardless, Batista made it clear he was in the WWE to stay for the time being.

Before leaving the WWE, Batista had a storied career, competing at WrestleMania multiple times and becoming WWE Champion. The Mattel WWE Series 37 version of Batista celebrates WrestleMania heritage and calls back to a simpler time when Batista didn’t sport many tattoos, had just given up being a deacon and followed behind his longer standing companions in Evolution. Here is an appearance from one of his first WrestleManias as ‘The Animal’ complete with trunks stating the like and black strapped boots.

Batista wore a very cool, skin tight white and red track jacket, grey pants and sunglasses upon his WWE return in 2014. A Mattel WWE figure in plain clothes is mostly not in the cards according to the Mattel WWE Design Team, however they may consider the possibility as the return outfits of many wrestlers are usual memorable to the WWE Universe. In addition, Batista destroyed Alberto Del Rio when wearing the same outfit so fans will most likely never forget it.

Mattel WWE WrestleMania XXX Batista vs. Brock Lesnar!

Just in time for WrestleMania XXX, Batista returned to the Mattel WWE line in a Battle Pack with Brock Lesnar as a ‘fantasy match-up.’ With accurate tattoos and a heavy beard, The Animal faces off with The Beast in a match that the WWE Universe anticipates at some point in the career of both staple wrestlers. This is perfect timing as it is in line with the actual return of Batista to the WWE so fans will have The Animal available.

No doubt eventually slated for release, a Mattel WWE version of Batista winning the 2014 Royal Rumble is likely to be a desire of wrestling figure fans who both like and dislike Batista. His red ring shoes, black trunks and new physique are enough to get wrestling figure fans talking, but the WWE Universe as a whole did not react well to his Royal Rumble win. The question remains, what does the WWE Universe want from The Animal? Are they looking for a hero to change the landscape of the WWE, or have they find another enemy for the heroes they are hoping to have more of an impact?

Randy Orton Has A Target On His Back…Will He Survive??

Due the current wrestling landscape, an often overlooked conversation is the survival of the WWE World Heavyweight Champion as he tries to avoid a loss to any oncoming challengers. The idea is overlooked even more with Randy Orton, who fans and members of the locker room alike feel cheated his way to a title reign because of a partnership with Triple H and the rest of the WWE corporate body. While many potential contenders including the Elimination Chamber participants and anyone else looking to get a shot at the gold and their struggles are often discussed by the WWE Universe, the struggle for Randy Orton to fend them off is an even greater one.

Perhaps what began all the modern day struggles for The Viper was his Money in the Bank briefcase win at WWE Money In The Bank 2013. Randy Orton has been a staple at WrestleMania since debuting in the WWE and perhaps his greatest personal challenge is a thirst for participating in the WWE’s main event. The WWE Universe has seen him suffer defeats and earn triumphs at WrestleMania, but with his current interactions and friendship with Triple H his participation at WrestleMania XXV comes to mind. In Mattel WWE Series 37, the WrestleMania Heritage series flashes back to a time when Randy Orton and Triple H were at odds with plenty of personal attacks. Randy Orton, as WWE World Heavyweight champion, can truly trust no one, not even the person aiding him in his attempts at glory.

The Mattel WWE Super Strikers Randy Orton shows the true darkness behind the eyes of the Apex Predator, with a face of anger, power and explosive frustration. When the wrestling figures legs are squeezed together, a double hook move can be performed but perhaps more telling about the release is the inclusion of a chair. Randy Orton will go to any lengths to get what he wants and this figure is the perfect example of that willingness to gain.

Kevin Nash Makes Royal Rumble Return…Could He Return to Mattel WWE Figures?

Kevin Nash has now not once, not twice, but thrice managed to surprise the WWE Universe with his unexpected appearance. Once showing up as Diesel in the Royal Rumble, he shocked the world after an absence for years from WWE wrestling. His return no doubt initiated the release of the Mattel WWE Diesel wrestling figure available in Mattel WWE Elite 16:

The popularity of the Diesel figure was unprecedented for a classic Mattel WWE appearance, including a WWE Championship, removable vest and spot on likeness of Diesel during his WWE peak. With full articulation and molded pants with tassels, wrestling figure fans had finally gotten the chance to grab Kevin Nash in a form they had been previously only been treated to a couple of times. The excitement was short lived, however, as the figure was packaged lightly with the availability of ‘The Outsiders’ Mattel WWE Elite 16 Kevin Nash wrestling figure:

The Mattel WWE Elite 16 Kevin Nash portrayed Big Sexy during his WCW peak, complete with bright red Outsiders outfit, black tassels and a spray painted WCW Championship! The figure also presented a completely separate head scan for Nash with long, blonde trademark locks. Wrestling figure fans made clear their desire for both versions but with their short packed release and difficult availability, only few fans were able to get ahold of the now sought after and difficult to find figure.

The idea still stands that Mattel WWE figure collectors still want more of Kevin Nash and aside from his many classic looks, his modern day appearances may prove more desirable. After showing up more times than most classic superstars during the recent WWE timeline, Kevin Nash’s modern day look is something wrestling figure fans would enjoy in Mattel WWE figure form. His return in 2011, from his canceled match with CM Punk to his Sledgehammer ladder match with Triple H at TLC 2011, would make for an excellent template for a modern day Kevin Nash figure. Most likely his attire would be based on that very slugfest with Triple H, where Nash sported long, black hair.

This Kevin Nash could sport an angry head sculpt, come with a ladder or sledge hammer accessory (or both!) and include Nash’s singlet and leather pants wrestling attire design from the actual event. It would have to represent his entire run after his Summerslam 2011 return, and would do so nicely as most of his other appearances came in plain clothes!

Mattel WWE Elite Royal Rumble 2014 Return Kevin Nash?

Kevin Nash returned at the 2014 Royal Rumble, surprising fans yet again and throwing around some WWE Superstars before suffering elimination. Noticeably more determined and agile, Nash was sporting a new short brown haircut with only one elbow pad, giving new possibilities and asking new questions as to whether or not he would return to the WWE to once again try to ‘stick the winner.’ Big Daddy Cool Kevin Nash remains a sought after Mattel WWE action figure, between those that have already been produced and those that may show up in the future.

OHHH YOU DIDN’T KNOW? Tag Team Champions The New Age Outlaws, Reuniting in Mattel WWE Form!

Just in time for Valentine’s Day as people across the world think of the greatest pairings ever, many WWE Universe members are struck by the partnership of the New Age Outlaws, Road Dogg Jesse James and ‘Bad Ass’ Billy Gunn. After re-capturing the WWE Tag Team Championships following a 15 year absence, the duo, who may or may not be at the beck and call of COO Triple H, are taking the locker room by storm. Aside from a brief appearance on RAW’s 20th Anniversary and a quick entry into the 2013 Royal Rumble by Road Dogg, the New Age Outlaws have been mostly inactive in the ring since disbanding so many years ago. However, they are proving consistently that they still have what it takes to roll with the young superstars they are defending their championships again. Now, they finally have Mattel WWE figures for fans to re-enact their favorite modern day New Age Outlaws moments.

Mattel WWE Elite 26 Road Dogg Jesse James!

The Road Dogg Jesse James blows the roof off of any arena he enters, beckoning the WWE Universe to the ‘Dogg House’ and rhyming his way through a self-introduction to one of the greatest Tag Teams in the history of wrestling. His Mattel WWE figure includes a hat, a D-Generate Road Dogg t-shirt and a classic style D-Generation X t-shirt. With a spot on likeness, pants that bear the D-Generation X style logos that only Road Dogg can pull off, this figure comes ring ready for both classic collections and modern day collections.

Also entering the Mattel WWE world is the ‘Bad Ass’ Billy Gunn, also affectionately known as ‘Mr. Ass.’ WWE’s resident ass man gets his first figure treatment in over 7 years, throwing back to his original style during the ‘Attitude Era’ but presenting a modern sentiment with interchangable headbands and two separate D-Generation X t-shirts. His trunks bear plenty of lips symbols and his knee pads are marked with ‘BA,’ which can only stand for ‘Bad Ass!’ The green color and white boots are a style choice Billy Gunn has made famous, making mothers everywhere turn their heads as he pulled his shorts down just enough to be inappropriate when entering the ring. His figure will not have this feature, but he is still just as much of a degenerate.

Mattel WWE New Age Outlaws Package Deal!

The New Age Outlaws have finally been immortalized in Mattel WWE plastic, but at what cost? The once happy-go-lucky rebels still maintain their wild personalities but carry out the biddings of the controlling, condescending and downright oppressive COO, their fellow D-Generation X member, Triple H. Could their WWE Tag Team Championship opportunity (they did win fair and square, at least) have come from strings being pulled by their friend in the highest possible place? No one knows except the members of D-Generation X themselves, but seeing how quickly the New Age Outlaws can jump to the defense of their old friend smells a little fishy.

Is CM Punk Gone From WWE? What Does This Mean For His Mattel WWE Figures?

The week after Royal Rumble 2014, speculation has run rampant on Twitter, Facebook and amongst the WWE Universe and beyond as to whether or not CM Punk is still with the WWE. Rumor has it that CM Punk, unhappy with his Royal Rumble loss and stature in the company, decided to leave the WWE early with a contract expiring in July and his absence from Monday Night RAW has further fueled this speculation. No one, including CM Punk himself, has made an official statement on the matter but rumors of fights with Vince McMahon, tension with Triple H and more have made people immensely curious about what is going on with the wrestling superstar they consider The Best In The World. Wrestling figure fans have already begun to speculate as to what this means for Mattel WWE CM Punk action figures and their future releases. Could Mattel WWE CM Punk figures be a thing of the past? Here are a few of the best Mattel WWE CM Punk figures so far:

Mattel WWE Straight Edge Society CM Punk Exclusive!

The Ringside Collectibles Exclusive Mattel WWE Straight Edge Society CM Punk featured camouflage Straight Edge Society garb for the Straight Edge Superstar. Complete with a removable mask and an extremely detailed bald headsculpt, this CM Punk was hugely sought after by Mattel WWE figure fans, sold quickly and remains a hot item to this day. Celebrating Punk’s time in the Straight Edge Society, it captured the essence of his purely evil turn and cult-like feuds with Rey Mysterio and Big Show.

Mattel WWE Elite 1 CM Punk!

The Mattel WWE Elite 1 CM Punk, his first released Mattel WWE Elite during the launch of the Mattel WWE line, featured CM Punk’s post-Money In the Bank win look, confidence and edge. The grey and yellow outfit featured in this figure, unlike so many other CM Punk outfits, has yet to be replicated and remains unique and unchanged. Also included, now a thing of the past in the Mattel WWE figure line, was a cotton-style cloth t-shirt.

After a forceful takeover of The Nexus from Wade Barrett, CM Punk put his leadership skills to good use and ran the group into the ground while using it as a springboard for his own success. Fans are often reminded of CM Punk’s time in the Royal Rumble surrounded by Nexus members and his infamous “Pipe Bomb” speech that took place during his time as Nexus leader. The Mattel WWE Elite 20 CM Punk was monumental for Mattel WWE wrestling figure fans as it included a new, slick-haired headsculpt and accurate, colorful tattoos that were finally realized as intended. This figure also included the Mattel WWE Spinner championship, commemorating CM Punk’s monumental WWE Championship reign that lasted over a year and ended at the hands of The Rock.

What could possibly be CM Punk’s last great feud in the WWE, he faced off with Undertaker at WrestleMania 29, angrily trying to end what he considered to be a self indulgent and silly WrestleMania streak carried by the Undertaker. Going so far as to make jokes with the urn of the Undertaker’s late father Paul Bearer, CM Punk reached into the mind of Undertaker to pull out a loss. He didn’t find it, but his memorable elbow drop on to Undertaker and his ongoing grouchy demeanor made the face off extremely memorable.

Mattel WWE Ringside Collectibles ECW CM Punk Exclusive!

The latest planned Mattel WWE ECW CM Punk Ringside Collectibles Exclusive figure was revealed by Mattel and Ringside Collectibles at Ringside Fest 2013. A happier, smiling CM Punk included red trunks and boots, a microphone, heart t-shirt and ECW Championship from a time when the new Superstar was doing his best to make a name for himself in the WWE. Many die-hard wrestling fans had already taken to CM Punk, but he slowly but surely made his way atop the WWE ladder, and it began while in ECW. The fate of this Mattel WWE Ringside Collectibles Exclusive ECW CM Punk figure is currently unknown, but upon its release, it will be a fitting tribute as the start of a career in the WWE that many have not wanted to see end.

Christian to Return to WWE Smackdown!

WWE Superstar Christian has been plagued with injuries since his World Heavyweight Championship and Intercontinental Championship runs in the WWE, injuring his shoulder and most recently receiving a concussion at the hands of Randy Orton and a vicious attack by The Shield. Since being absent, however, he has welcomed the birth of a child and taken newfound inspiration from this into his quest for one more match. Time will tell as to what kind of impact his return to the WWE roster will make, but the WWE Universe is eager to find out as he makes his way to Smackdown, some arguably even more eager than they were awaiting the return of Batista.

Mattel WWE Series 36 Christian!

The most recent and insanely accurate Christian featured in Mattel WWE Series 36 has a spot on headsculpt, scruff and blonde hair just like the real Captain Charisma. With green and black ring pants, his outfit pops with color and he’s the perfect basic Mattel WWE figure for those looking to add the Captain to their collection who already haven’t. This will be the figure wrestling figure fans worldwide use to re-enact Christian’s return.

Mattel WWE Rumblers Christian and Sheamus!

Mattel’s now defunct WWE Rumblers set included miniature versions of favorite WWE Superstars and Legends, and Christian is lucky enough to count on both sides of that description. Here, he is featured in modern day attire with Sheamus, teaching the red-headed Irish beast a lesson in respect and learning to earn your place in the WWE and working hard for it. If fans remember his feud with Sheamus, Christian did this by complaining and sneaking his way around defeats to the big brawler. Fans can fondly remember the comedy of Christian’s antics that were a thorn in the side of Sheamus with this Rumblers set.

Mattel WWE Elite 20 Christian!

Mattel WWE Elite 20 saw one of the first Attitude Era flashbacks with this old school style Christian, complete with mesh shirt, yellow ring pants and black boots. This Christian also included sunglasses (a solid yellow and clear yellow variant) that both Edge and Christian made famous during the Attitude Era. Christian is a pioneer of the Tables, Ladders and Chairs match that is now a staple of WWE programming and along with his tag team partner Edge, redefined the ladder match and brought the prestige of the WWE Tag Team Championships to a new level. This figure represents his pique as a 9 time tag team champion and captures one of the true innovators of the duck face. With Christian’s return imminent, his quest for one more match will more than likely be captured. Now all he has to do is capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
