Stardust & Goldust Descend Into Madness

It was a shock to everyone when the sad, depressed Cody Rhodes disappeared for good. It was an even bigger shock when he reemerged as Stardust, Goldust’s similarly bizarre, shining younger brother. It seemed Goldust’s strange ways had finally gotten the best of Cody and that after years of trying to break out on his own, he had finally found his place among the stars. The duo were friendly at first and fans were clamoring for more Goldust, more Stardust and a chance for the two to gain the Tag Team Championships. This, of course, would make the team an absolute must as Mattel WWE figures.

While Cody Rhodes and Goldust have appeared in Battle Packs together before, a Stardust Mattel WWE figure has yet to make his way into the cosmos. It would likely feature a smiling, bizarre version of Cody Rhodes with his entire body suit and his name printed on the back. It would fit perfectly with the already released Mattel WWE Elite 29 Goldust, one of the best ever made of the bizarre one:

With so much detail going into the paint and coloration for the real life Goldust and Stardust, it’s only certain that Mattel would try to capture that bizarre look in their figures perfectly as they have here. A Mattel WWE Stardust would have to have spot on facepaint, dark, red eyes and possibly even stars in both of his hands to make his trademark symbol.

Since delivering a brutal attack on The Usos, Stardust and Goldust have taken a turn for the more intense as they look to grab the WWE Tag Team Championships. Once friendly and parlaying for the fans, they are now aggressive and more than likely frightening the young audience members of the WWE Universe. Not since the Ministry of Darkness has a tag team struck such fear into the hearts of fans.

With Goldust’s veteran presence and Stardust’s youthful stride, the team are a force to be reckoned with and are hopefully here to stay in the WWE. It looks as though Cody Rhodes had to lose his mind to finally capture the hearts and imaginations of the fans, and so far they seem to be ok with it if the desire for a Mattel WWE Stardust figure is any indication!

Celebrate Hulkamania With New Mattel WWE Hulk Hogan Figures!

As recently announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, Mattel will finally be partnering with Hulk Hogan to release Mattel WWE Hulk Hogan action figures! While the possibilities are endless as to which figures could be released as Hogan has so many different, iconic looks, we were treated to a few of them at Comic-Con. One is an 80’s version of the Hulkster, and another looks to be a modern day version of everyone’s favorite legendary wrestler.

This basic version looks to have a sculpt better reflecting how Hulk Hogan looks now, in all of his years young. With black pants, a red shirt and a prototype sculpt, it’d be perfect for anyone looking for a new General Manager of their wrestling figures. A modern day Hulk Hogan would make many wrestling figure fans thrilled.

The first ever Mattel WWE Elite Hulk Hogan will better reflect one of Hogan’s most popular eras, his time as WWF Champion in the late 80’s. With Elite articulation and a body mold to specifically fit Hulk Hogan like no other, this will also come with the style of WWF Championship belt at the time. It’s the definitive Hulk Hogan for any Hulkamaniacs who grew up in the 80’s.

With the nWo, Hogan’s 2002 WWE return and all of WCW, New Japan and beyond, there are tons of styles and looks that Mattel can produce throughout Hogan’s career. This is just the beginning, and fans should look forward to more Hulk Hogan figures to come in the future.

The Mattel WWE Display at San Diego Comic-Con 2014! TONS of NEW Images!

Arguably one of the most eventful San Diego Comic-Con’s ever for the Mattel WWE line, the Mattel WWE display at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 showcased some amazing new wrestling figures and super detailed versions of extremely sought after Legends and Superstars!

– A Mattel WWE Hulk Hogan is now a reality, along with a Mattel WWE Razor Ramon, Mattel WWE Ric Flair and a Mattel WWE Sting! After a surprising reveal, fans got to have a close look at early builds of each on display.

– Showing off the latest Mattel WWE Elite 30, Mattel WWE Elite 31 and Mattel WWE Elite 32 sets, some standouts included the Legion of Doom in new, spot on attire and a Wyatt Family member Daniel Bryan. Also making their way into the display was a Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio and the Lex Express himself, Lex Luger.

– Big Van Vader himself, Vader has made his way back into the Mattel WWE line with an elaborate representation of his helmet and ‘It’s Vader Time’ tights! Also featured was a Mattel WWE Elite Rocky Maivia, the happy version of The Rock before he became the thrilling Superstar he is today.

– Fans have been clamoring for a Mattel WWE Paige figure and Mattel placed one on display just to give them a taste of what is in store! This accurate Paige figure looks as though she could begin screeching at any moment, just like in real life.

San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Mattel WWE Panel Revealed!

The Mattel WWE San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Panel!

Mattel and WWE have made huge, strong showings at the San Diego Comic-Con since partnering up in 2010, and 2014 looks to be no different. With perhaps their most exciting panel ever, the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con brings top WWE Superstars and Legends to the stage and multiplies the excitement! The official statement reads:

Thursday, July 24 • 10:15am – 11:15am

Mattel and WWE: Over-the-Top-Action!
Two of the world’s top entertainment companies have teamed up for the ultimate panel at SDCC. WWE Superstars and Mattel designers will talk about the all-new WWE Network and give exclusive sneak peeks of Mattel’s upcoming WWE figure releases! Incredible guest appearances by Hulk Hogan, Daniel Bryan, Michael Cole, Paul Heyman, and you never know what else will be unveiled. This is a panel you won’t want to miss, brother!

The inclusion of Hulk Hogan opens a floodgate of questions that Mattel will hopefully (and likely) answer. With so many different iconic looks throughout his legendary career, a Mattel WWE Hulk Hogan figure comes with endless possibilities. With the nWo, Hulk Hogan’s classic runs as WWE Champion or even his return to the WWE in 2002, Hogan will have the more impact on the Mattel WWE line than arguably anyone produced as a Mattel WWE figure before him.

Daniel Bryan is currently on the WWE ‘disabled list’ but after his appearance at Money in the Bank 2014, is clearly still beloved. His appearance at SDCC 2014 is his only announced appearance for WWE in the near future, so it will give fans a chance to see him again and to check out more of his updated (and spot on) Mattel WWE figures.

Michael Cole has history with Daniel Bryan and the entire WWE Universe as they love to hate him but deep down, wouldn’t be able to live without him. With only one Mattel WWE figure to date, it’s possible that he could be announced in another line or just be showing up to give fans a hard time. Depending on which of Michael Cole’s diverse personalities we are getting, he will add an element of fun.

Paul Heyman, legendary in his own right, will likely have plenty to say about Brock Lesnar, the Undertaker, and even Daniel Bryan. With underlying conflict floating through the air, the pot will likely be stirred by Heyman and wherever he is, his ‘clients’ can’t be far behind. With two Mattel WWE figure treatments to his name, Paul Heyman can always be due for more.

Also, Mattel will be offering sneak peeks at upcoming Mattel WWE figures as they do every year. With so many amazing wrestling figures produced so far, fans still have loads of legends and modern superstars they want to see given the treatment. San Diego Comic-Con is always a big step in filling that need for collectors and fans!

Mattel WWE Elite 30 Now Available For Pre-Order!

Mattel WWE Elite Series 30 Revealed!

The Mattel WWE Elite 30 wrestling action figures are now available for pre-order! With a great mix of modern day Superstars and WWE Legends, fans are already clamoring for this Elite sets’ release!

Mattel WWE Elite 30 includes:

Lex Luger
Brock Lesnar
Ryback
Animal (Legion of Doom)
Hawk (Legion of Doom)
Batista

With Lex Luger’s first Mattel WWE figure treatment ever, fans are to be treated to a representation of the Lex Express himself during his pique WWE days just before jumping ship to WCW. Likely red, white and blue American style attire will be what Lex dons for his first Mattel release and a physique like no other, full of unmatched muscle.

Brock Lesnar has not received an updated Mattel WWE Elite since Series 19, so fans of the Next Big Thing will likely be thrilled to see an updated version of the man who single-handedly destroyed Undertaker’s WrestleMania reputation. Expect a bigger, badder and angrier version of the life-time Paul Heyman guy.

Ryback has re-invented himself as a tag team specialist but his brute strength and size have remained the same as he jumps in to another Mattel WWE Elite set. With a selection of singlets as massive as his arms, Mattel should have no problem delivering a detailed, exciting version of the Big Guy to the Feed Me Morons.

The Legion of Doom includes Hawk and Animal and were represented in the Mattel WWE Legends 1 Series with old school attires. Leaving a bit to be desired for fans in both look and body shape, Hawk and Animal make their return in Mattel WWE Elite 30, likely in the red and black Road Warrior gear they are most well known for. With rumors of a new body shape for Animal, Hawk can’t be far behind and wrestling figure collectors will receive the versions of this legendary tag team that they’ve been waiting for.

Batista made his return to the WWE just in time for the Royal Rumble. Despite negative fan reaction and leaving the WWE once again, he has forced himself to stay overwhelmingly positive and take the feedback of the haters with a grain of salt. All hate aside, wrestling figure fans are looking for an updated, modern day version of the Animal who makes his first appearance in an Elite set since his original departure.

Mattel WWE Elite 30 Lineup Revealed!

Mattel WWE Elite Series 30 Revealed!

The Mattel WWE Elite Series 30 lineup has finally been revealed, and fans are going wild with the announcement of a mix of modern day WWE Superstars and WWE Legends! WWE Elite 30 includes:

Ryback
Batista
Lex Luger
Hawk (Legion of Doom)
Animal (Legion of Doom)
Brock Lesnar

With Ryback’s newfound ability as a tag-team specialist working hard to own the scene with the likes of Curtis Axel, Ryback has finally found a place in the WWE where he is fully comfortable. A new Mattel WWE Ryback Elite will help ease the demand of this ever-popular WWE Superstar and offer another of his extremely detailed singlets in wrestling figure form.

Since returning to the WWE, Batista will receive his first Mattel WWE Elite figure in years. Hopefully representing his new, Hollywood-style attitude, this Elite will more than likely be packed with a few accessories, and if fans are lucky, a pair of skinny jeans with ripping ability.

Lex Luger was once an unstoppable WWE Superstar, chugging off on the ‘Lex Express’ and taking the WWE Universe by storm. His American-themed outfits and patriotism made him a fan favorite during his short WWE run and wrestling figure fans have been clamoring for a Lex Luger figure since the Mattel WWE Elite and Legends lines have existed.

The Road Warriors, also known as the Legion of Doom, consist of the unstoppable Hawk and Animal. Although they had debut figures in Mattel’s WWE Legends line, they finally make a return, hopefully in the red shoulder pads that fans have been dying for since their original release. If this isn’t the case, fans would certainly be happy with blue shoulder pads or even LOD 2000 attire.

Brock Lesnar looks to end the Undertaker’s streak at WrestleMania 30, but in the meantime his ring attire has changed very little since re-debuting in the WWE. With the possibility of a new headsculpt for an Elite Brock, this figure could give fans another modern day version of the Beast.

Daniel Bryan’s WrestleMania Journey Begins with Triple H!

Since losing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship ‘fair and square’ to Randy Orton at Summerslam 2013, Daniel Bryan has been dealing with the constant abuse of power by the COO of the WWE and the man quickly growing to become one of Daniel Bryan’s biggest nemesis’ ever, Triple H. The Game has used his ability to manipulate goings on to make Bryan’s life and pursuit of the title a living hell. The American Dragon has prevailed, however, earning himself the chance to main event WrestleMania 30 if he defeats the one thing standing in his way…The King of Kings. Triple H and Daniel Bryan are both slotted for release in Mattel WWE Elite Series 28, and since fans have yet to see images of these wrestling figures, they can easily speculate on what they could look like.

Mattel WWE Elite 28 Triple H…in a suit?

A Mattel WWE Triple H mail-away exclusive wrestling figure featured the former world champion wearing a grey suit from his more easy-going days as COO of the company. Since, he has opted for darker, harsher suits and cut his long, flowing locks. While Mattel has often stated they do not like to make suited figures, it is nearly impossible to deny that Triple H has appeared almost exclusively dressed up since Summerslam 2013 on WWE television. Anyone looking to re-enact Daniel Bryan’s struggles with the Cerebral Assassin would certainly need an updated, suited Triple H.

The savior of the WWE Universe and the YES! Movement leader, Daniel Bryan has made fans out of millions with his likeable personality, amazing wrestling ability and scruffy beard. His first reference to the ironclad facial hair style came in the form of a ‘The Beard is Here’ shirt in direct parody of John Cena’s ‘The Champ is Here’ shirt. Mattel may choose to commemorate this ever-popular look in Daniel Bryan’s style, despite it having evolved since.

Mattel WWE Elite 28 Triple H in wrestling attire!

Though he rarely appears in wrestling attire, Triple H manages to find his way into a competitive role every year at WrestleMania. He will do so again when he tries to stop Daniel Bryan dead in his tracks, and then head for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship himself. A short haired, Elite Triple H figure in wrestling attire has only been seen so far as an exclusive, and could easily make its way into the main line with the next Elite release of Triple H.

Mattel WWE Elite 28 Daniel Bryan…with Respect The Beard shirt!

Daniel Bryan’s ‘Respect the Beard’ shirt accompanies one of his many red, grey and black designed attires and could easily be expected as a choice for Mattel WWE Elite 28. While it is a bit pre-mature to assume the figure would be the ‘Yes! Movement’ version of Bryan, this version is indeed a bit newer and just vintage enough to be considered. With a new headsculpt that further accentuates the bearded modesty of the humble American Dragon, Daniel Bryan’s latest Mattel WWE Elite release could satisfy fans everywhere, especially if he makes it to the WrestleMania 30 main event.

Is Batista Getting the Right Reaction From the WWE Universe?

Batista returned to the WWE just in time to participate in the 2014 Royal Rumble. The WWE Universe seemed underwhelmed by his return as he set his sights on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and looked to send a message to the rest of the WWE locker room by taking out Alberto Del Rio. Some were very excited, but many felt it wasn’t the explosive return they were looking for. Regardless, Batista made it clear he was in the WWE to stay for the time being.

Before leaving the WWE, Batista had a storied career, competing at WrestleMania multiple times and becoming WWE Champion. The Mattel WWE Series 37 version of Batista celebrates WrestleMania heritage and calls back to a simpler time when Batista didn’t sport many tattoos, had just given up being a deacon and followed behind his longer standing companions in Evolution. Here is an appearance from one of his first WrestleManias as ‘The Animal’ complete with trunks stating the like and black strapped boots.

Batista wore a very cool, skin tight white and red track jacket, grey pants and sunglasses upon his WWE return in 2014. A Mattel WWE figure in plain clothes is mostly not in the cards according to the Mattel WWE Design Team, however they may consider the possibility as the return outfits of many wrestlers are usual memorable to the WWE Universe. In addition, Batista destroyed Alberto Del Rio when wearing the same outfit so fans will most likely never forget it.

Mattel WWE WrestleMania XXX Batista vs. Brock Lesnar!

Just in time for WrestleMania XXX, Batista returned to the Mattel WWE line in a Battle Pack with Brock Lesnar as a ‘fantasy match-up.’ With accurate tattoos and a heavy beard, The Animal faces off with The Beast in a match that the WWE Universe anticipates at some point in the career of both staple wrestlers. This is perfect timing as it is in line with the actual return of Batista to the WWE so fans will have The Animal available.

Mattel WWE Royal Rumble 2014 Batista Wrestling Figure!

No doubt eventually slated for release, a Mattel WWE version of Batista winning the 2014 Royal Rumble is likely to be a desire of wrestling figure fans who both like and dislike Batista. His red ring shoes, black trunks and new physique are enough to get wrestling figure fans talking, but the WWE Universe as a whole did not react well to his Royal Rumble win. The question remains, what does the WWE Universe want from The Animal? Are they looking for a hero to change the landscape of the WWE, or have they find another enemy for the heroes they are hoping to have more of an impact?

Randy Orton Has A Target On His Back…Will He Survive??

Due the current wrestling landscape, an often overlooked conversation is the survival of the WWE World Heavyweight Champion as he tries to avoid a loss to any oncoming challengers. The idea is overlooked even more with Randy Orton, who fans and members of the locker room alike feel cheated his way to a title reign because of a partnership with Triple H and the rest of the WWE corporate body. While many potential contenders including the Elimination Chamber participants and anyone else looking to get a shot at the gold and their struggles are often discussed by the WWE Universe, the struggle for Randy Orton to fend them off is an even greater one.

Perhaps what began all the modern day struggles for The Viper was his Money in the Bank briefcase win at WWE Money In The Bank 2013. After making his way up the ladder with all of his opponents laid out, he grabbed his chance at the WWE Championship, used it on Daniel Bryan with the help of Triple H at Summerslam 2013 and didn’t look back until he was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Now, the playing field is even smaller and those looking to dethrone him, especially Daniel Bryan who he took advantage of to begin with, are ready to make repeated attempts until it happens. Here, Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan call back to their Summerslam 2013 interaction in Mattel WWE Battle Packs 28.

Mattel WWE Elite 21 Randy Orton!

Randy Orton’s ability and strength cannot be denied despite his cheating ways and the Mattel WWE figures that reflect that best come in the Elite style. In Mattel WWE Elite 21, Randy Orton sports an RKO t-shirt and superior articulation, offering his finishing move of the RKO out of nowhere and helping wrestling figure fans re-create his intensity working up to that move or his beautiful standing dropkicks.

Randy Orton has been a staple at WrestleMania since debuting in the WWE and perhaps his greatest personal challenge is a thirst for participating in the WWE’s main event. The WWE Universe has seen him suffer defeats and earn triumphs at WrestleMania, but with his current interactions and friendship with Triple H his participation at WrestleMania XXV comes to mind. In Mattel WWE Series 37, the WrestleMania Heritage series flashes back to a time when Randy Orton and Triple H were at odds with plenty of personal attacks. Randy Orton, as WWE World Heavyweight champion, can truly trust no one, not even the person aiding him in his attempts at glory.

The Mattel WWE Super Strikers Randy Orton shows the true darkness behind the eyes of the Apex Predator, with a face of anger, power and explosive frustration. When the wrestling figures legs are squeezed together, a double hook move can be performed but perhaps more telling about the release is the inclusion of a chair. Randy Orton will go to any lengths to get what he wants and this figure is the perfect example of that willingness to gain.
