WWF FIGURE INSIDER
By John Barnett

(For the week of January 1, 2000)

NEWS: I hope that everyone had a happy and safe New Year last night.

It seems as though Ringside Collectibles has somewhat of an exclusive. Jakks made a mistake in early shipments of Titan Tron Live 2 figures sent to retail stores by including only World Title belts.  Ringside customers have sent e-mail's letting us know that they have been receiving the 6 different belts that are pictured below.

Remember, if you order a set from Ringside Collectibles you will most likely receive the different belts. However, because the packages are sealed, Ringside Collectibles cannot guarantee which belts you will receive.

The Bone-Crunching figures are disappearing from stores as Titan Tron Live figures are taking over. Many retail stores are clearing old stock of BCA figures to make room for the new figures.

Despite the end of BCA, Jakks has released a sixth Special Edition series to KB toy stores. Most notable from the assortment are Hardcore Holly and Jeff Jarrett. If you don't want to spend $20 for 3 figures you already have and a Hardcore Holly repaint you want, Holly is the same figure from the Hardcore Title 4-pack. Jarrett is the same as in 2 Tuff 5, only instead of black trim, he has red trim around the design on his trunks.

Don't forget to check out Ringside Collectibles Millennium sale.  You can find incredible deals on some of the most popular Jakks figures and accessories.

Final Results of last week's Poll: The voting was close, but it seems as if the true spirit of the holidays is alive and well. The top response to last week's poll is that it doesn't matter whether or not you got everything you wanted for the holidays.

CLASSIC JAKKS FIGURE OF THE WEEK:

Big Bossman

Superstar Series 8

The Big Bossman, originally in Superstars Series 8, was one of my favorite figures of 1999. The figure was a dead-ringer for the Bossman in all his riot-gear wearing glory. This is definitely a figure no collection is complete without.

BRING IT TO ME JAKKS!: Is there a certain figure that you would like to see produced or an accessory you would like to see made?  Jakks has told us that they would love to hear your ideas and suggestions for future products!  If you always wanted that Howard Finkel figure to complete your collection or if you think Jakks should come out with Al Snow's frozen dinner with real Pepper meat, all that you have to do is e-mail Jakks with your suggestion.  They just might use it!  All product suggestions sent to: [email protected] will be forwarded directly to Jakks Pacific.

FIGURE INSIDER TRIVIA:  This week's prize is a $30 Ringside Collectibles Gift Certificate.  The question is: What was the only Jakks assortment to include a figure of DOA's Skull?

If you think you know the answer, just send an e-mail to: [email protected] with the subject "INSIDER CONTEST", in the e-mail you MUST include your answer along with your name and town.  Only one entry per person.  Multiple entries will be disqualified.  Your answer must be received by 11:59pm eastern time on January 6th. One winner will be chosen from all correct entries received. You can rest assured that personal information sent in for this contest will not be used for marketing purposes. It allows us to ensure that multiple entries are disqualified!
The winner of this contest will be announced on the Figure Insider page the weekend of January 6.

The correct answer to last week's question is the Survivor Series 4-pack that was a Toys R Us exclusive in late 1996.  The winner of last week's trivia is [email protected]. E-mail your address ASAP to receive your prize.
