WWF FIGURE INSIDER
By John Barnett

(For the week of October 2, 1999)

NEWS: Jakks keeps the boxed sets coming. Released to Toys R Us stores recently are two new championship title 4-packs. The first is the long-awaited Hardcore Champions 4-pack, which includes a Hardcore Title belt for all four figures. The four figures included are Big Boss Man, Mankind, Hardcore Holly, and Al Snow. The other new 4-pack is the Championship Title Belt Series. This 4-pack features Stone Cold Steve Austin (w/ Smoking Skull belt), X-Pac (w/ Tag Team belt), Kane (w/ Tag Team belt), and the Rock (w/ World Title belt). Austin's figure is a re-worked 2 Tuff 5 Austin with arms and a head that are more in proportion to the large body. X-pac is sporting his black and green outfit. The Rock and Kane are merely re-releases though.

With the release of the new Titan Tron Live figures, expect Jakks to release a re-decoed "Attitude" ring in the coming months.

The Titan Tron Ramp, Titan Tron Double Slam, Titan Tron Live Series 1, Limited Edition Austin, and Steve Austin Interactive Figure are all now in stock. If you reserved your's, expect them on your doorstep in the coming weeks.

For those of you who want to know more about the Steve Austin Interactive Figure before you decide whether or not to buy it, I am starting to really get into this cool figure. The technology is amazing and the sound is very clear.  It sounds like Austin is in the room with me.  I am still working on a full review detailing all of the features of the Interactive Austin.  I guarantee you guys it will be up later this week.

Final Results of last week's Poll:
It looks like the vote is split in last week's poll.  About 50% want the bone-crunching figures back. The other 50% of fellow collectors are willing to give the new Titan Tron figures a chance.  I suggest that you give them a chance because they look incredible.  Wait until you see the Titan Tron Double Slam set in person, the detail is amazing.

CLASSIC JAKKS FIGURE OF THE WEEK:

Yokozuna

Without a doubt, Yokozuna is the largest 6" figure ever produced by Jakks. This massive figure was released as a KB exclusive three times. The first time being in the Triple Threat 3-pack, followed by a re-release by himself in red and black, and then a repainted version in black and white.

BRING IT TO ME JAKKS!: Is there a certain figure that you would like to see produced or an accessory you would like to see made?  Jakks has told us that they would love to hear your ideas and suggestions for future products!  If you always wanted that Howard Finkel figure to complete your collection or if you ever wanted a life-size Headbanger skirt that you can actually wear, all that you have to do is e-mail Jakks with your suggestion.  They just might use it!
All product suggestions sent to: [email protected] will be forwarded directly to Jakks Pacific.

WWF FIGURE TRIVIA QUESTION OF THE WEEK: This weeks prize is a $50 Ringside Collectibles Gift Certificate.  The question is: What was the first assortment to feature Stone Cold Steve Austin wearing an Austin 3:16 shirt with a smoking skull on the back?

If you think you know the answer, just send an e-mail to:[email protected] with the subject "INSIDER CONTEST", in the e-mail you MUST include your answer along with your complete name, mailing address, and phone number.  Only one entry per person.  Multiple entries will be disqualified.  Your answer must be received by 11:59pm eastern time on October 8th. One winner will be chosen from all correct entries received.
The winner of this contest will be announced on the Figure Insider page the weekend of October 8.

The U.S. Patent number for Jakks' bone-crunching action is 5,800,243. Congratulations to this week's winner: [email protected].

There has been some confusion about the question from September 19th. Some people think that Bradshaw's second sculpt from the Tag Teams Series was released before the Undertaker in the Championship Title Series 4-pack. While they were shipped at nearly the same time, the Championship Title Series saw a nation-wide release slightly before the Tag Teams Series.
