WWF FIGURE INSIDER
By John Barnett

(For the week of November 5, 1999)

NEWS:The fun police have struck again. Wal-Mart stores nationwide are pulling Al Snow figures off store shelves after two women in Georgia complained that "Head" encourages and mocks the "brutalization of women". It's a mannequin head, and an androgynous one at that! How does a plastic head that only Snow can hear encourage violence toward women? Snow's even gone on record stating that everyone likes Head and the one time he did beat Head, the crowd booed him irately. Whether it's Phil Mushnick or two women in Georgia that just don't "get it," someone's always got to be attacking the WWF. If only these women would have actually taken a few minutes to find out what the Al Snow character is all about.

Speaking of Al Snow, sales of the Al Snow Limited Signed Edition figure have quickly increased since the Wal-Mart announcement.  Without a doubt this rare autographed figure will be sold out by Christmas.  If you want the first ever Al Snow figure produced signed by Al Snow himself along with an excellent full color certificate of authenticity,  I suggest getting your order in ASAP.

Moving on to some good news, Grapple Gear Series 3 is now in stock. I just received my set from the post office and it is excellent.  This is the first ever Grapple Gear set made for the Titan Tron Live figures and Jakks outdid themselves.  Take a look at the photographs of these must-own accessories.  Grapple Gear sets are EXTREMELY difficult to find in the stores.  Why not have Grapple Gear Series 3 delivered straight to your door right now?

I've received some more details on the Back Talkin' Stage I mentioned a few weeks ago. Apparently, the stage will read chips included with figures that will play sound clips so your figures can trash talk with each other. Jakks is also planning a similar product that will be some kind of backstage playset with sounds. Of course this item is not expected to see the light of day till the middle of next year so let's get back to stuff that is out now.

Less than 100 Edge and Christian signed 2-Packs remain.  I suggest getting your order in ASAP if you plan on purchasing this collectors item for the holidays.

WWF The Music Vol. 4 is expected to come in at #5 on the Billboard Charts. Ringside Collectibles has the CD available for the absolte LOWEST price on the internet ANYWHERE!!!! CLICK HERE for information on how to get the CD for ONLY $10.99!!!

Ringside Collectibles has brand new Jakks Photographs of Double Slam Series 2, Smackdown Series 2, and Titan Tron Live Series 2.  Pre-order these new sets before they sell out!!

What do you think about the Al Snow controversy?

Wal-Mart is right, Head represents violence towards women
I would take Head, shine it up real nice, turn it sideways, and stick it straight up Wal-Mart's candy ass!!

CLASSIC JAKKS FIGURE OF THE WEEK:

Al Snow & Head

Some people are too blind to see the entertainment in Head, but milions of people do. Come on, tell me you weren't amused when entire crowds at ECW shows were waving styrofoam heads around in support of Snow. Not only is Al Snow one half of the WWF Tag Team Champions, he comes with the greatest accessory ever brought to the ring, Head. As the saying goes, everybody needs a little Head.

BRING IT TO ME JAKKS!: Is there a certain figure that you would like to see produced or an accessory you would like to see made?  Jakks has told us that they would love to hear your ideas and suggestions for future products!  If you always wanted that Howard Finkel figure to complete your collection or if you think Jakks should come out with Al Snow's frozen dinner with real Pepper meat, all that you have to do is e-mail Jakks with your suggestion.  They just might use it!  All product suggestions sent to: [email protected] will be forwarded directly to Jakks Pacific.
