WWF FIGURE INSIDER
By John Barnett

(For the week of September 19, 1999)

NEWS:Signature Series 5: Silver Edition? The next assortment of Signature Series figures will be known as Silver Edition. Already confirmed are Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kane, Billy Gunn, and Road Dogg. Austin is made up of a 2Tuff 5 Billy Gunn upper body painted as a t-shirt similar to his 3:16 football jersey with Off the Mat Austin legs and head. Kane is the same as in Fully Loaded 1. Billy Gunn's Silver Edition figure is a new mix of parts for the King of the Ring, featuring a 2Tuff 5 Billy Gunn head, 2 Tuff 3 Austin upper body, and Fully Loaded Billy Gunn legs. Road Dogg is very similar to his Fully Loaded 2 figure, only he's wearinf a "Down Where?" t-shirt. The remaining two figures in the "second-to-last" bone-crunching assortment have not yet been announced.

KB's latest exclusive 3-packs have hit stores. The Camo Carnage 3-pack includes repaints of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Billy Gunn, and HHH from Camo Carnage loaded with an array of accessories. No Chance features a Fully Loaded 2 Stone Cold Steve Austin figure, Superstars Series 9 Vince McMahon, the Big Show in referee attire, and a guard rail. These sets may only be repaints, but they're a good deal for $20.

CLASSIC JAKKS FIGURE OF THE WEEK:

Steve Austin
Superstar Series 4

He's the most popular wrestler today and is included in nearly every assortment by Jakks, so it's natural that Stone Cold Steve Austin had to be Figure of the Week at some point. Superstars Series 4 marked the debut of the Rattlesnake, and the figure was so popular that it was immediately released in Superstars Series 5 to meet the high demand for it. Since then, the figure's been re-released a few more times in Best of '97 and Best of '98.
