WWF FIGURE INSIDER
By John Barnett

(For the week of September 25, 1999)

NEWS: In an unexpected move, Jakks has released a huge boxed set containing ten figures and a child-size WWF title. Included in the Perfect 10 boxed set are Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Rock, HHH, X-Pac, Mankind, Undertaker, Kane, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, and the Big Show. Every figure has been released previously excpet Gunn, who features his 2Tuff 5 sculpt repainted with a black shirt. If you missed any figures that were released this summer, this set is a great opportunity to fill those voids in your collection.

With the insane demand for the 250 autographed Edge/Christian 2-packs, Ringside Collectibles has expanded the limited edition to 500 pieces. After the 500 are sold, there will be no more!  Make sure to order your's fast before the new stock sells out.

A lot of controversy has arisen with the Undertaker's figure in his 2Tuff5 2-pack with Viscera. The figure is the same figure ToyFare magazine offered a few months ago as an exclusive, and those people who shelled out $14 for what they thought would be a rare exclusive are upset that the figure is available on the mass-market.

The Titan Tron Ramp, Titan Tron Double Slam, TitanTron Live Series 1, Limited Collectors Edition Austin, and Steve
Austin Interactive Figure
are all in stock now. If you placed a pre-order, expect them on your doorstep this week.

Final Results of last week's Poll:
As most 12" figures seem to be, Jakks' Steve Austin Interactive Figure seems to be out of the price range of most collectors, or the over-sized figure just doesn't appeal to them. A lot of you are interested but just don't quite understand how it works yet. Toy experts are expecting this figure to be one of the top-sellers come Christmas, and it should prove to be hours of fun.  I know I promised an Interactive Austin review but don't worry it will definitely be up next week.

I urge everyone again this week to check out Jakks Official Interactive Austin website. It is in stock right now here at Ringside Collectibles but to can get all of the cool details about the features just click here.

CLASSIC JAKKS FIGURE OF THE WEEK:

King Of The Iron Rungs

This rare 2-pack contained the first ever Steve Austin figure in his 3:16 t-shirt and jeans leading it to become one of the most saught after items in the Jakks Collection. It also contains a rare Bret Hart figure without glasses. This very limited edition 2-Pack can fetch upwards of $50 on the aftermarket.

WWF FIGURE TRIVIA QUESTION OF THE WEEK: This weeks prize is a $50 Ringside Collectibles Gift Certificate.  The question is: What is the U.S. Patent Number on Jakks' bone-crunching action?

If you think you know the answer, just send an e-mail to:[email protected] with the subject "INSIDER CONTEST", in the e-mail you MUST include your answer along with your complete name, mailing address, and phone number.  Only one entry per person.  Multiple entries will be disqualified.  Your answer must be received by 11:59pm eastern time on September 30th. One winner will be chosen from all correct entries received.
The winner of this contest will be announced on the Figure Insider page the weekend of September 30.

Surprisingly, I received very few correct answers this week. Many of you didn't seem to understand last week's question though. I asked for the first wrestler to have a second sculpt made of them, not the first figure to be repainted. The first person to be remade with a new sculpt was none other than the Undertaker, whose second mold debuted in the Championship Title Series 4-pack. This week's winner is [email protected]. E-mail me your name & address so you can collect your prize.
