HOME IS WHERE THE HART IS- BRET LEADS NEW HART FOUNDATION TO VICTORY
The New Hart Foundation defended Canada's honor with a remarkable victory in a wild 10-man tag team match over their American adversaries at In Your House 16: Canadian Stampede, in Bret "The HitMan" Hart's hometown of Calgary, Alberta.
Bret had recently reunited with Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart and recruited younger brother Owen Hart, "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith & Brian Pillman to for the New Hart Foundation. The stable shared a love for their Canadian & British roots and an aversion toward anything American. The opposing team of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, Goldust, and the Legion of Doom (Hawk & Animal) represented the United States, which made the conflict even more personal.
The 24-minute brawl came to a close when Bret tossed Stone cold back into the ring after the "Rattlesnake" attacked Hart family members watching the match from ringside. Owen then quickly took hold of Austin and rolled him up for the pin. But the action didn't stop there. Amid a wild brawl, the entire fabled Hart family rushed the ring and cleared it of Austin's remaining teammates to punctuate a hard-fought victory on their beloved Canadian soil.
